Strategy Development

A recent Harvard Business Review article asked: "Is strategic planning
completely useless?"
and then went on to document the ineffectiveness
of most corporate and business unit strategic planning processes.
The authors' conclusion: For strategic planning to be more effective,
it needs to be an ongoing, issues-driven and decision-focused process.

Our approach to facilitating any kind of strategic planning effort is both
issues-driven and decision-focused. We ask: What issues today require
careful strategic deliberation? What known and potential future issues
must be explored? What decisions must be made today and tomorrow
to create the future the organization desires? How will we ensure that
the best thinking and know-how of the organization is at the table?

Our core skill is in creating the processes and forums that enable the strategic
debate and dialogue to occur; and also, in facilitating the planning
and decision-making processes.
